This move is designed to give readers a rare and comprehensive look at the critical evaluations that shape scientific papers, while reviewer identities will still remain anonymous unless they wish to be named.

Since 2020, authors could choose to publish these documents, but now this practice becomes mandatory, reflecting a major shift in scientific publishing.

By publicly sharing these discussions, Nature aims to build trust, highlight reviewers’ contributions, and help early-career researchers understand the rigorous process underpinning scientific progress.
